The Pinder Versatool brand has been around for over 50 years and during that time Versatool products have earned a reputation within the engineering industry and other commercial sectors as being one of the strongest and reliable ranges of industrial furniture available.

Originally formed before the Second World War by Mr William Pinder in 1933, the Pinder Company has a proud history of being a family run business and the Versatool brand has passed through three generations of the Pinder family.

The first commissioned contract was to manufacture a lantern for Baston church near Bourne in South Lincolnshire. Later, the company was passed down to Mr Roy Pinder and Mr Leslie Pinder before Mr Michael Pinder eventually became the third generation owner. Under the Pinder family ownership the company gained a reputation for supplying accurate, quality sheet metal products with a good appearance.

The company has developed and marketed a wide range of products over its existence, ranging from donut cookers, early lathe cabinets and machine tool storage cabinets and equipment, establishing itself as a major supplier of all kinds of sheet metal guards and components for the growing British machine tool industry. Historically, Versatool cabinets where supplied with swing trays and these were a unique feature of the Versatool brand.

For a ten year period the company was owned by I Holland Ltd of Long Eaton, who the Pinder family had a very long mutual respect for and whose agents sell the Pharmaceutical range of punch and die storage system - a relationship that we are still very proud to have today.

Following a management buy-out, Pinder was finally bought by A Class Engineering and we are still upholding the original ideal of a hand crafted quality product that will provide a reliable and desirable piece of industrial furniture that will last for many years to come.

The Versatool range has been developed to meet the needs of engineers in a wide range of applications and the storage cabinets and workbenches have provided excellent service in machine shops, production assembly areas, tool storage, metrology and inspection areas, laboratory rooms and pharmaceutical applications across the world.

The modern Versatool cabinets and benches have very much evolved from the classic Versatool ranges and are now designed to be flexible meet the demands of the modern work shop and production environments.
